Great information. I was a beginner to the industry when I purchased it about 2 years ago. It was helpful but a lot of the terminology was over my head. I still reference it from time to time. However, for my particular situation it wasn't the smartest of purchases. I had just started at an optometrist practice as a doctors technician with zero experience and wanted to familiarize myself with what I was doing. So, good book, not great for beginners.
This book is a must for every student and clinician in ophthalmology or optometry. It should be translated in other languages too. Easy to read, guides you through the procedures step by step. Some color pictures and a couple of updates in a later edition would make it excellent.
CPOE is a fantastic reference book for optometry students. It describes all of the common exam techniques in great detail including step-by-step procedures, explanations of findings and how to record results. An invaluable book to have around!
This book is really good, it tells you what you need to know when examing a patient. it's systematic , so it tells you even the more basic stuff to the more complicated in step by step, how to record your results and even examples and what to expect from each exam.hamilcar cordeiro
Unbelievably useful for clinical proficiencies at the end of second year of optometry school. Teachers notes are embarrassing compared to the quality and consistency of the methods outlined in this textbook. Recommended for all optometry students and optometric technicians.

I found this book very informative as an international optometrist applying for licensure in Canada. Some procedures/techniques asked for by the boards I was not aware of initially.
It's okay for 1st year and 2nd year optometry, but by 3rd year you'll have outgrown it. If you want something that will be more useful, invest in Wills Eye Manual or Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.
