Bentley's photo journals of Tuscany, including this work and his companion piece "The Most Beautiful Villages of Tuscany", are wonderful keepsakes for those who have had the good fortune to spend time in that beautiful place. The books may be less appreciated by others who have yet to travel there, but not any less for its stunning photography.
I think I have every book published from this series by James Bentley. The photographs and short descriptions of the towns and/or villages are breathtaking. Gives me lots of incentives to visit these places, which I will be doing in September.
A great picture book and interesting reading too. Anyone who has fallen in love with the small towns of Tuscany will love this book. A great reference book before you go and a great reminder once you're back home.
Coffee table book, photographs are nice but there are no people in them. Surely in these little towns there are people and some movement! Although the pictures are beautiful it just wasn't what I expected.
Chalk full of great pictures of Mediterranean style homes and details. Pictures are crisp and clear and the print quality is superior.
a beautiful book. Pictures are evocative of the essence of Tuscany. Love Tuscany and this book does it justice.
Fast service, as described
GREAT BOOK! Last year I checked this book out of the library and really thought it to be fantastic. I would like to visit Italy but would like to visit small towns in the county. I live a quite life on secluded acreage 12 miles from a small town. I prefer to visit areas mentioned in this book. The photographs are awe inspiring with details of church paintings, town plaza, fields of different varieties, olive trees , vineyards. castles and wonders of things from a different time.
