Gerry Harris has written an excellent text documenting many of the principles and techniques he has utilized in several decades of clinical practice. His photography is very good and written explanations are very precise. This has been one of his many strengths in oculoplastic surgery expertise. Many have asked him over the years (me included) to write such a book and he finally relented. This is a very good volume to add to the knowledge base of those who perform this type of surgery and will likely challenge some of us to broaden our horizons to apply some of the ideas he espouses.
This book is a great resource for the ophtho resident rotating through oculoplastics. Provides a thorough overview with emphasis on repair of defects following Mohs. Text and captions guide the reader through the thought process. Recommend it.
I know that the authors are well-respected in the oculoplastic literature, but this book is poorly organized and labeled. The JRO Collin Colour Atlas of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery with DVD (3rd Edition) is much better. Has great pictures and a schematic/drawing of the picture right next to it with labels. This book is also expensive for what it is.
