I have collected 26 Frida Kahlo's Paintings (Collection) for Kids. I examined 6 of those covers and found that the inside pictures were in the exact same order. At least each picture has a name but no other information. I used kindle from the Microsoft store to look at the pictures, the pictures are in color. Adults would enjoy as well as students.
This compiler throws 24 pictures with their titles, copies it and puts a different cover on it. He probably has 24 different covers for the same book. No dialogue or descriptions. Don't bother downloading more than one book of each painter profiled. Better yet, do yourself a favor and check out the art books in your local library.
It's a long trek from Picasso to the Temporary Exhibition halls on the second floor so what say we refresh ourselves first? That done, we journeyed clear across to the far side of the complex to view Mexivan artist Frida Kahlo's self-portrait "The Frame." I loved the vibrant colors although Junior was quick to point out "Why isn't she smiling?" Perhaps she's still waiting to refresh herself, too I replied.How about we give Hokusai a look next since he is right next door. And if you want to follow our adventure in the Louvre from the beginning please head back to da Vinci if you like.
Edit: Okay so after a month, I found out to HOLD the photo, and it will expand. I stand corrected. Whew! Rating amended.I snagged all of these in the series today, but guess what? I'd thought the paintings would render beautifully on my 8.9" Fire. Yeah, no. There's about 8 words of text for each painting, which are literally about 1.5 inches square, and a bunch of blank page.I wanted to use these as a teaching aid, but the images are far too tiny. So sad; neat books.
Good introduction to Frida's paintings, and does not include some of her paintings which may be disturbing for younger children. I like looking at this book on my Kindle when I am relaxing with some coffee.
I have been to her "museum home" in Mexico City and I saw her Paintings displayed in La Jolla at museum where they temporarily had them then moved on to L.A. We're I saw them again. I just can't get enough Frida!!!
I think it would be beneficial to write something about the paintings so children would take something away that they could associate with the painting itself.As not all children learn by seeing.
This book is simply 24 labeled pictures, nothing more. Very simple but useful for learning the names of the paintings I suppose. I downloaded it for free so it was definitely worth it.
