When I was with my students at our clinical site, I saw this book. I wish I had this book 30 years ago when I was just getting started in nursing. It provides a nurse with a quick "down and dirty" summary of a plethera of medical diagnoses, the corresponding pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, applicable nursing diagnoses (great for that student nurse) with rational, lab tests and other components. Actually, my students had me order them each one since none of them had Prime. It came to me by their next clinical rotation. This is an older edition so I paid pennies on the dollar for it, but I can't believe too much has changed in the past couple years.
I really enjoy the concise information in the Nurse's 3-Minute Clinical Reference. I am a Home Health Nurse as well as a Med-Surg. nurse and all the information is pertinent for a quick refresher course on cause and treatment.
This one of those texts that you use as a secondary resource. It has not been a critical item that I needed for nursing school and I could have done without it. It is missing many conditions that are common.
I'm currently in the RN program and we are in clinicals now. Having difficulties to know what I'm suppose to fill out on the prep tool form, I needed some assistance. This book has a lot of info and majority of diseases we deal with. It also has a section for nursing diagnosis and how to write it out for a care plan. This is a very good book for first time RN nursing students. I highly recommend.
This book is worth its weight in gold for students in Clinicals. It covers many diseases and provides a thorough explanation of the pathophysiology, medical and nursing interventions. I use it as a reference when contructing time consuming careplans. A+ book.
This is the best and quickest way I know to get the general outline on a disease or physical disorder. It is the best book I've found like this. It includes nursing interventions and nursing diagnosis too. You can't beat this book.
As a nursing student, I have learned the hard way from purchasing too many useless clinical guides. This one is the best so far and negates the need to have all the others. I wish I had found this book sooner. It has pathophysiology, assessments, diagnosis, nursing considerations, labs, etc. for conditions listed alphabetically. Super-easy to reference!
This is an awesome book for nursing students during clinical rotations. I have really gotten some excellent FAST information from this book.
