You know when a book tells you it has 7 chapter objectives and you find yourself searching for where they discuss them? This book gives you the objectives, then in the text will put the number of the objective within the passage to signify it's location! Obviously with being a fundamentals book it initially starts with boring nursing history but then it has sections on pretty much all the topics of fundamentals. The text is HUGE in this book, great for my tired nursing-student eyes. Included are neat "Nursing Alerts". The book is in black/grey scale, and blue, while there aren't a ton of pictures they're very helpful. At the beginning of the section there are the "key terms" listed but there is not a glossary in the back, the terms are bold in the passages and typically clearly defined but there isn't a separate section listing all the terms' definitions.
This book is written in a clear format and is helping me a great deal in my nursing classes. My text book is literally 1800 pages and is written in small print. This book is 400 pages and covers almost all of the same material in a much clearer format. Will seriously consider buying other books from the demystified series when the time comes.
I am a student nurse and this book has helped me out a lot. Just starting nursing school and the nursing fundamentals book that is required is very big, long and small lettering. So it was a bit overwhelming especially since i am not a reading. But Nursing Fundamentals DeMYSTIFIeD help me a lot. It breaks the information down into simpler words, which makes it easier to understand.
Purchased as an e-book. Does a great job of simplifying important nursing concepts. Very easy to follow. Would recommend for pre-nursing students and first year nursing students.
This book is amazingggggggggggggg!!! I was in my first semester of nursing school, and this book is wonderful. It broke my entire nursing school textbook down and that book is huge, and I was really having a hard time understanding it. We had 18 chapters on one test and that is a lot to learn in a small amount of time, but this book helped me out 100%. I totally recommend this book for every nursing students wanting more understanding of the material. I pass my fundamentals class and now I recently purchased Med-Surgical Nursing Demystified, and I am pretty sure that one will not disappointment me either. Good Luck!!!!!!!!
Read this book before entering a nursing school program. You will understand about how to care for patients and what the job of being a nurse should be like.
