Purchased this book for my EKG Class and I loved every page of it. The only complaint I had was that you get thrown for a loop when the book transitions from generalized Wave Readings to in depth readings.
I purchased this book on accident not realizing it wasn't the full version and only an introduction. I have the "arrhythmia recognition" version of this book and it worked very well for me throughout the cardiology portion of paramedic class. I purchased this after paramedic class to further my knowledge. From what I read from this book it was just as good as the basic version. If you're going to spend the money to purchase this book, just spend the money to purchase the full version.
This is THE book to learn 12-leads. It's super easy to read, thorough treatment of the subject and includes the best graphics of any book I've ever seen. Should be mandatory for any nurse or doctor that comes close to cardiac stuff.
I love the colorful pictures, the basic electrophysiology, the full EKGs with thorough explanations of what you're suppose to notice. However, I checked this book from the library, read it, and ended up buying the lengthier version: 12-Lead ECG: The Art of Interpretation. Only because the author kept making references to it throughout this whole introductory book. No regrets, though. Good stuff is good stuff, regardless of where it is written or who says it.
This book is great for the beginner or someone who wants to review 12 lead interpretation. The rhythm review is great and really reenforces the methodical approach neccesary for effective ECG interpretation.
This book is more useful than any of the textbooks you may have had to use in medical school. It really explains EKGs well.
