This is exactly what I was looking for to get ready for my FP-C. William puts detail and thought in every exam question with the purpose of getting you ready to take an aero medical certification exam. He knows his stuff having over 5 years experience teaching review courses among other things. After each test there are detailed justifications for each question. There are "test tips" throughout the book and some humor thrown in keeping things interesting. Don't be discouraged if you bomb some of the tests in this book. These tests are to learn from. I would take a test, mark the questions I got wrong in the book, then go through the individual justifications and take notes to study later as a "grand finale". This is not an overnight read, plan on spending many different sessions taking tests and reading justifications etc. Good Luck!- Frank from NM (not delicate...like a flower)
This book was an amazing study tool and asset to me for having a first time pass on the FP-C exam! The questions to practice in the book are the same in difficulty compared to the FP-C and are worded very much alike. 3 questions on my exam were almost word for word identical to ones I practiced in this text. Will Winfield also makes the text funny, you will catch yourself engaged and laughing while reading. He also includes great study tips and ways to remember important information. I also used Orcid Lopez Back to Basics book which was a good resource however I found it to be too easy compared to the FP-C questions and not very similar. The ACE SAT is definitely a great book and if you pass the questions in this book you will most likely pass the FP-C!Ryan W. NRP, CCEMTP, FP-C
I purchased this book as well as the online study program and have found the combination to unbeatable! I was deployed to Afghanistan before I could test and had this book sent from home in order to continue my studies. The book is filled with the type of mind bending questions you can expect on the FP-C exam (as told to me by those who have taken it) and I find the logic and rationale sections to be the key to making sense of it all and relieving the headaches! I would recommend this study guide to anyone who truly wants to pass this exam. Doug Torres Advanced Practice Paramedic, CCEMTP.
Kudos across the board! One of the best written books out there covering this subject matter! Used it to prepare for my CFRN, which I passed the 1st time, with flyng colors. Clear and concise review of systems/exam blueprint with well written rationales. Still carry ACE-SAT with me for review and leisure reading. Excellent!
All of the "positive" reviews I've read about this book are true. I used it as my only preparatory tool for FPC. Well laid out, great explanations. Helpful.PS- I bought the book, am receiving NOTHING for this review. I'm just a paramedic w no reason to BS anyone here. Good book.
A great review book overall. It's a great addition to the numerous resources needed to study when preparing for the FP-C or CFRN. Many of the questions are "questionable" in that hemodynamic parameters vary from text to text and numerous answers can be correct, the answer depends upon which text Will got his info from. However the questions with rationales are nice. Great book to have.
This book was a great resource while preparing to write the Aeromedical exam. It presented the topics in a clear and easy to understand format. Very good mnemonics to help memorize certain definitions. Not all is applicable if your from Canada, as the equipment, drugs and protocols are different, however the physiology of flight applies everywhere. On the whole, this was a great study guide.
