This is the only book I used to review for the EFM NCC certification test and passed first time! I've given it to other nurses in the departmet and all they did was read the highlighted areas and passed as well.
I am a labor and delivery nurse. I am returning to work from a six year hiatus of raising children full time. I purchased this pocket guide because it is up to date with the NICHD approved definitions. Things have changed in regards to appropriate documentation and this pocket guide is just what I needed. I was pleased with the many sample FHR tracings and interpretations included. This is the perfect sized book to fit in a scrub top or scrub jacket pocket.
Taking the exam to be NCC certified in EFM was extremely stressful. I felt so much more confident after reading and studying Mosby's Pocket Guide. I did pass and recognized so much more of the information after my reading.
I have taken Fetal Heart Monitoring classes and have purchased the books associated with. All of which were very large and not easy to uses as a reference in the actual work arena. I was thrilled with the size and even more thrilled with the content of the pocket manual. The book is very well written and laid out. I have marked my pages for quick reference and it sits at my computer for quick reference. I would recommend to anyone that is just starting out in Labor and Delivery!
This small book is a wonderful resource. I would recommend it to anyone. It's great for everyday use or as a study guide. It's money well spent!
If you are studying for the NCC fetal monitoring exam this is the best book to read to get all the latest information on the current exam.
Lisa Miller is an awesome instructor and her book is just as awesome!!This pocket guide is current with all of the NICHD terminology and very straightforward and easy to understand.A great book for referencing while on the job and a great study guide for prepping to take the NCC EFM exam!
Great easy access resource. User friendly index in the back with easy to read definitions. Great in a pinch. My only complaint is when they elaborate on the case studies, they suck you in for a few pages only to end with the conclusion that the first hypothesis was invalid. Does not belong in a pocket guide.
