I thought this was a very thoughtfully written, comprehensive book on the importance of and how to draft a quality resume. As I am in the process of switching jobs/careers, I'm finding that as I haven't had to deal with resume writing in almost a decade now, things have changed. It turns out that I was a lot more rusty than I even thought I was, so I'm glad that I picked up this book to learn about some of the new tips, tricks, do's and dont's that I would have missed on my own. In a matter of hours I was able to gather all of the information I needed and come up with the perfect resume, which I've been sending out to companies, and I'm pleased to say that in less than 48 hours, I've already received two responses from potential employers! Highly recommended book!
I have been into different job seeking in the past two years, I say more than ten. During these times I only used one resume. I didn't think that it could be one of the reason why I failed on landing an interview. This book made me realize that there's more to having a great resume. I was not aware that for these past years, my resume was not good enough. The ideas on the book, are really of great help in writing the best resume we can use to get a job. I thought my resume was quite good to start with, after reading this book mine looks very faulty! It’s a good thing that I’m always looking for ways to improve.This book provides information that can be helpful to anyone. Whether you just wrote your first resume or are rewriting it for the 20th time. James Storey gives valuable information on how to make your resume perfect.The information is presented in a very organized way. This gave me an exact overview of all the steps and advice.The greatest advantage this book gave me, is that it showed me how to be in the top 20 percent of all applicants.The sample email addresses of what not to use in your resume, at the end of this book gave me a good laugh! In the past I have been guilty of using weird email addresses in my resume as well.I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in search of his or her dream job, this book will take you a step closer!
Book tells you to focus more on your achievements, and less on just duties performed if you are trying to stand out especially to different job recruiters. Grammar is very important and especially don’t think that you can just write in your resume how you type to a friend on a chat or social media. Structuring your resume in a way that stands out and putting information on where the most important things show first. The Styles, the concepts, and your experience is what they want to see. This book was very educational especially for those who are always having a tough time trying to get an edge in getting hired. I definitely recommend this book very informational and full of useful advice to apply.​
