If your class is using the Stewart book for Calculus then this Solution Manual will be immensely beneficial. It has been better than any other I've seen in the 6 math courses I've completed at college and the Calculus courses I've done in high school.The real winner is with the detail. The problems are completely solved step by step for you, with very few skips or assumed steps. If you are the type of student who enjoys more and more examples like I am, this book is the key. The approach is clearly shown and the solution is written out so completely that I used this manual to review for every exam. I was thoroughly impressed with it. A little price heavy, but I split it with a few friends and shared it.
I didn't read carefully when I bought this book, but it only contains the answers to the odd numbered questions. If you need all the answers, good luck finding the teacher's solution manual; they're pretty elusive. And this is just the answers for the first half of the book, so you have to buy chapters 8-13 also.Otherwise it seems like a good book.
I have found this to be a very helpful book in my calculus studies. It does not just provide the answers to problems like some books do. It actually shows how to arrive at the correct answer which is helpful if you are having troubles with simplification after taking derivatives. It helps clear up any lack of understanding you may have in college level algebra.
This book helped me to obtain an A in calc II course. It has been four years since last time I did any math (at this level) and this book really breaks down the steps for you.The textbook only has the final answer to the question which is no use to you if you can't get the answer in the first place. Having this book allows you to find your mistake by going through the steps.
Since this was my first calculus i did not understand the reason why they made every thing so complicated when answering the questions in the back of the book, then at the end of the semester i realize that it was basically different was to make the answer look "PRETTY."
Definitely a purchase worth making when taking Calculus 1 and 2. I just wish it covered the entire book and not just the first half.
This book is good. But I highly recommend torrenting it on Pirate Bay or something then just print out the chapters you need. Save your money. You'll thank me later.
I use this in my Calculus II class, and it is very helpful for working through all the odd problems. It is not just the answer, all of the steps are included.
