This book offers an excellent introduction to the work of Augusto Boal, one of the most influential contemporary theatre practitioners. It offers a description of Boal's career in Brazil as well as his exile abroad. The biggest contribution of the book, however, comes with its in-depth analysis of Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed. It also offers practical examples of Boal's theatrical practices and techniques.
Boal's work is fabulous, and this book is an excellent introduction to his theory and practices.
