"The Handbook of Dialysis" is a must have for anyone who is a patient on dialysis or who is the caretaker of someone on dialysis. This book is written with a Nephrologist or Nephrology nurse in mind, but patients and caretakers can learn a great deal as well. It explains the whole dialysis process including reuse, vascular accesses, anticoagulation, nutrition, infections, sleep disorder, etc. The dialysis process affects one's whole system.
This book is a MUST for dialysis nurses. It is easy to read and is sectioned according to body systems. I carry it with me for quick reference and consider it to be the "bible" for nephrology nurses.

It is easy to locate what you need, whether you are reading for first-time knowledge, for review, or for support during an emergency. I have no reservation to recommend this book for all readers who are interested in dialysis therapy.
I found this an excellent book for everybody starting in the field of nephrology. It gives an indepth coverage of all the topics in the field and provides a great foundation. It is a useful and must-own pocketbook for all residents and fellows training in the field of nephrology.

Over the years, I have made it a priority in my life to stay abreast of directions the dialysis industry has taken, some good, some not so good.When my docter suggested this book at first I was skeptical. I felt it was going to be another simplisticapproach to being a "good" patient as oppossed to being a knowledgable, proactive patient.Although there is a lot of terminology which must learned.
