I bought this for nurse practitioner school with Ferri's Best Test and use them together in and out of class and clinical, it is helpful when trying to think of all differential diagnosis and it has some good charts in it
Title sounds apealing but book lacks depth. Uphold and Graham and many other classroom books contain all that this book has. I returned it
Not very easy to find specific complaints. There is a TON of information that is not very well compartmentalized. I was hoping for more of a referral book. Patient comes in with X complaint, look up X, see list of diff dx. Not really how it's written and doesn't cover a lot of ground
I got this book to aid me for my physical exam and differentials class but it actually didn't really help me get the differentials down, unfortunately. The book is laid out by CC and what could be the reason for the complaint but it just never matched what my professors stated were the differentials. The book is really nice and could be an excellent resource but it wasn't good for my class.
I am grateful for this book in helping me to make a list of differentials that is appropriate and useful. The dermatological lesions that are displayed are extremely useful. A real help clinically and through out my preceptor experience.
If you have this, plus a recent Medical Dictionary, you can --if necessary-- be your own advice nurse. This book will help you prepare for your next visit to the doctor, because you will know what questions they will ask you (or should ask you).
Recommend this to all Medical students, PAs and ARNP students. I like the way this book is organized and the layout makes for easy reference. Did not think I would use it as much as I do but I find it helpful in clinic to reinforce classroom learning.
This was required for my introduction to Naturopathic primary care class and has helped me out tremendously thus far. The text is pieced together in a very cohesive manner and does a splendid job at sorting out differentials. Recommended.
