If you're buying this it's probably because you have to. If you don't have to, don't. The info is all outdated. No idea why my school picked this text but my instructor didn't even use it because it's so crappy.
This book was last revised in 2001, which was 13 years ago. This book is also written to correspond with DSM-IV. We are now on DSM-V, and some definitions have changed. Some of this information presented in this book is very outdated and no longer accurate. The reader will be misinformed if they believe everything in this book to be true. It would be a liability to use this book. I recommend finding a more recent textbook on this subject.
Except for some wear on the exterior spine of the book, I'm happy with this purchase. I'm pretty OCD about highlighting / writing in used books, and this came without any, so I was ecstatic about that. It seems to be informational enough, and it was much cheaper than buying through the school bookstore.
Thank you lost all of these books in The April Floods near Houston, Tx
Helpful supplement for my A level psychology class!
Though it is an used book kept in good condition and I need to thank you for the used one who highlighted main points for me. This book is an easy to read, easy to understand, without lot of jargons.
It is a good quality book for a relatively good price and it also included the cd which adds value. There is a considerable amount of highlighting but that can be compensated for by simply using a different set of highlighters myself. It would have been nice for it to be 5 to ten dollars cheaper.
Somewhat measured in the explanations but basically covers the topics.
