I really like this book. However, why is shingles, acute allergic reaction, anaphylaxis not included? (acute dermatitis is on p.382, but no reference to airway involvement). Also no nebulizer treatments for acute exacerbation of COPD or paediatric acute respiratory distress. Otherwise really like format, like clinical pearls. Like algorithms. Like medication charts, dosages.
I have followed this text through multiple editions. It is simply the best outpatient handbook for primary care. It's not as comprehensive as some (although it has grown with each edition and it has the BIG 85-90% of what you will see every day) but what it does do it does so well there is no comparison with other handbooks. The layout and organization are crystal clear, rapidly accessed and the information you are looking for obtained quickly. And it is excellent information. "Dense" may seem like a better value but when it takes you 15 minutes to track down what you need out of that other book, the 3 minutes you have to spend with this book to get information that is actually more practical will prove it's worth.
