The only negative about this work is it will be outdated when a new edition hits the stands, soon I would expect. Palliative care continues to establish best practices. This handbook covers just about everything. I would say everyone (medical provider, nurses, social worker, mental health, chaplain, CNA's, etc.) should all have read this and either have a copy on their own shelves or in the facility library.
I was looking for a small portable book to assist me in both my education and decision making in palliative care. This little book is a treasure. Easy to read, well organzied and portable.
If you are serious about your work in Hospice then you must have this book to help guide you, it is the bible for hospice providers
For the size of the book, comprehensive, well organized, thoughtful and thought provoking. A holistic approach. Simple symptom relief strategies and responses to palliative emergencies are also provided.
Very informative about issues relating to the chronic and terminal illnesses, signs and symptoms, as well as what to expect in the different stages of an illness, lab values and significance, and medications. I used this book to study for the Hospice and Palliative Nurse Certification exam.
A must read book for those engaged in the integrated delivery of hospice and palliative care . The book contains superlative examples and correlates clinical evidence based medicine and the delivery of appropriate care
Very detailed and logical. A great reference in palliative care. Practical and evidenceï¼based writing. It is worth it's value. Good
Great resource
