The PA school application process is very involved and requires a number of steps. This book offers great advice about getting yourself organized, using proper references, getting enough medical experience, and a lot of good ways to set goals. I feel the advice found in this book helped me get into my PA program now. I would suggest getting this book. Do NOT, however, ask this question in your interview: Why should I choose your program over other programs? I asked that question straight out of the book, and had it backfire in my face when the professors said "If you don't know what this program could offer you, why did you apply here?" Good luck!!

I read this book and followed step by step. I was just admitted to my first choice AND my second choice of PA school. I don't know what stronger recommendation there is than that.

Another firm believer here! This book (and a great deal of prayer to the Big Man upstairs) helped me to not only get interviews for several PA Programs, but ultimately got me accepted into the PA Program of my choice!!! I can't thank Mr. Rodican enough for the great tips and suggestions throughout the book. I look forward to starting this new journey, on the way towards becoming a Physician Assistant. I strongly suggest that anyone with a real desire to become a PA not to hesitate in purchasing this book!!!!

I got this book in combination with "How To "Ace" The Physician Assistant School Interview."About 4 weeks before my interview I read these two books religiously. These books will help you highlight your best qualities. It helped me organize my answers and taught me a lot about do's and don't's of the interview itself. With these two books, I felt overly prepared during my interviews... When I started talking to my interviewers it felt more like a conversation to me.I GOT INTO PA SCHOOL TWO DAYS AFTER MY INTERVIEW!

Great book! I got into the first school I Interviewd at and I needed to accept before any other interviews started so I cancelled the rest. I had mediocre grades and GRE scores so I made sure to strengthen other areas. Very happy with this book!

It's the right book. It was new. It was shipped quickly. That's all I ask. That being said, I followed much of the advice in this book as I applied to 13 PA schools recently. I have been offered 8 interviews, two rejections, and still waiting to hear from three schools.Bottom line, have a good personality, be yourself during the interview and saturate your application with the four following things:1) Patient contact hours2) a high Grade Point Average (at least for your science and math prerequisites)3) volunteer hours (doesn't have to be medical)4) shadowing experience (just ask any PA if you can shadow them, even if you don't know each other. I met my first two shadowed PA's online and their referrals led me to three more shadowing sessions.)

I was waitlisted the first time I applied to PA school and was not prepared for my interview. This book was super helpful to me during the application process and especially helpful during my interview prep. This time I was much more prepared and focused thanks to Mr. Rodican. I interviewed with one of my top choices and received an acceptance letter two days later!

I bought three books to help me navigate the application process, and this was by far the best. It accurately describes what to expect in most of your interviews, but most importantly, gives insight to what interviewers are looking for when they ask certain questions. Also has great tips for writing essays (both for supplemental apps and for CASPA). The list of schools in the back needs to be updated-- would be nice if they also listed which schools only have provisional status. Overall a great book and very helpful.
