This is the 3rd David Busch compact camera guide I've bought. I do like the the way he organizes and explains the camera features and have never found them to be be boilerplate versions of general photography books. Granted, some things will apply to all cameras regardless of make or model but I always find instructions and explanations specific to whatever camera I'm trying to learn.In the case of the Nikon D7200, I found the photography section (particularly the item-by-item camera set up instructions) point on, clear, and well-explained. I might or might not go with his particular choice but, at least, I understand the implications of going another way. I am used to still photography and understand what I'm choosing when I choose most settings.In respect to the video part of the instructions I found that section less clear. Granted, it is not something I have ever had to do or make decisions about. As of now, I still haven't set those preferences or used that function of my camera. I'm still using a separate video camera to take videos when I need to. I don't find this part as easy to understand as the photography section, but that's probably my fault because I don't grasp the benefits or consequences of one setting over another. I've had the camera for 3 months and haven't taken a single video.
Great book to keep in the bag. It's informative and concise. The authors signature was pretty cool too considering the camera and book was a gift. It's a must have for novice photography enthusiasts with a 7200.
David writes very good guide books and this is another one.
Much better than original book, easy to understand.
A lot of great information.
Easier to follow than manufacturers instructions. Very technical for a first time DSLR user.I will continue to learn from this book.
