Although, I only purchased this book because it was required for my Medical Terminology I class, I learned to really appreciate this book and if I had to be asked again to purchase this book I would do it all over again.Barbara A. Gylys, made studying terminology easy and sufficient. Along with all of the words defined throughout the chapters as they were presented, they are also categorized, defined, and placed in the back of the textbook which makes them much easier to find. Prefixes and Suffixes to all terms are also listed as well so when trying to define a word by yourself, it is much more efficient and easy. After each chapter there are several review activities that you can practice, which were very helpful to me when it came time for a test or quiz. Unlike most of my complicated medical textbooks I've purchased in the past, reading each chapter was easily understood and it made my Med Term. Class a whole lot easier to comprehend. The fact that when I bought this book it was a lot more expensive then it is now should not be the only reason why you should purchase this book (For future reference, I recommend that you buy the paperback instead of the e-book. There isn’t much work you would do online for this class anyways). Unlike most of my other textbooks that I bought throughout the school year that just sit in the back of my closet collecting dust once the class is over, this book, I still continue to use every day. It definitely helps me out in my anatomy classes and even in some of my biology classes too. This book will even come in handy when I continue on to grad school to become a Physical Therapist. This is probably one of the only books so far throughout my college career where I got my money’s worth out of a textbook.
