I just graduated in Family Practice but am working in a Women's Health Clinic. This book has helped a great deal for me, not only to know what to look for in assessment but what labs to order and other differential diagnosis to consider. Also great for help with SOAPE notes.
My clinical preceptor recommended this book to help with writing the SOAP note, and it has done just that!! I am in a nurse midwifery/women's health NP program and this book has come in handy!! Would recommend this book to anyone looking for help writing their SOAP notes!!
This book is an excellent source of information for someone who is trying to determine what should be charted in various circumstances. Very good resource.
Bought this as a midwifery student on the advice of a teacher. This will not only help you organize your SOAP note, but aid in a differential diagnosis as well. I also like that it's a small, easy to follow source that isn't another big book to lug around! :)
I was hoping this book would help with some templates for documentation, but it was fairly vague and not helpful in that area at all. It is more of a review guide for certain conditions, but not very specific at all. OK at best.
As an NP student, I thought this would be helpful in my women's health rotation. It is filled with a lot of information that makes you think and drives your interview questions toward the proper assessment and plan. It is a great source for training the brain to think about multiple diagnoses.I purchased the Kindle version after I had purchased and sued the Family Medicine SOAP note of the same series only to find that the OB/GYN version, unlike the Family Medicine version, is not compatible with iPhone and I could only view it using the Kindle app on my iMac.
This version is not available on PC that uses Windows 8. A notice should be provided that it can be downloaded on certain devices and not available in all reader devices.
The SOAP for family medicine gave better information for assessment and documentation purposes. would be nice if the SOAP series came as a kindle download
