Thomas MacEntee is brilliant. He doesn't beat around the bush; he tells it straight in a style that is as informing as it is engaging.At the end of the book (I read it in one sitting), you will know what to do with your boxed-up photos, slides, and film negatives.
This book is quick read but has a lot of good information and resources. Mr. MacEntee's book will help you to begin scanning your family photos, documents, and artifacts. For info on other topics, be sure to follow the links included in the book.
I liked the questions asked about various projects which helped me to decide how and what I'm going to do. I found the range of products out there to assist me surprising. I had no idea there was so much "out there". I was expecting a longer and more detailed discussion about options, though.
This "book" just gives suggestions not instructions. It is not a "how to set up a... ". It is a sales pitch for equipment. Probably good equipment but I was looking for suggestions on ways to organize and digitally handle photos not just equipment.
This book was a short read. I trust Thomas for good information and he has delivered. I now have more confidence that I can start my huge project organizing years of photographs and that I will do it correctly from the very start.
What I appreciated most about this book was the names of equipment recommended and the author's views on usage. Definitely feel I got some good information to help with all my family history, photos, slides, and negatives. Thanks
Digitization Options was not what I expected but it provided me with information about Apps, equipment, and resources that I am not familiar. It also let me know I had not wasted money on the items I have purchased.
It is an easy and fast read. Thomas provides what you need to know for whatever kind of digitization you want to do, and he names devise names so you know exactly what to look for.
