Artwork that spans the period of roughly 1907 to 1919. While classical-painted landscapes like "After the Storm" floated my boat (haha) I was also favorably impressed by many of the zapata-style paintings as well (paintings using larger blocks of colors). I went on to read about the artist later and can definitely see how he would easily transition into the murals that became his mainstay. Very good book!
Edit: Okay so after a month, I found out to HOLD the photo, and it will expand. I stand corrected. Whew! Rating amended.I snagged all of these in the series today, but guess what? I'd thought the paintings would render beautifully on my 8.9" Fire. Yeah, no. There's about 8 words of text for each painting, which are literally about 1.5 inches square, and a bunch of blank page.I wanted to use these as a teaching aid, but the images are far too tiny. So sad; neat books.
I have collected 26 different Twenty-Four Diego Rivera's Paintings (Collection) for Kids. I examined 6 of those covers and found that the inside pictures were in the exact same order. At least each picture has a name but no other information. I used kindle from the Microsoft store to look at the pictures, the pictures are in color. Adults would enjoy as well as students.
I love having the art available at my fingertip as we study the artists. This is so convenient. We would be much less likely to complete our fine arts study without such a ready resource.
Perfect for our Classical Conversations group and also her Atelier art classes this fall. I wish I would have found them last fall but better late than never!
This book was incorrectly titled as being 24 paintings by Diego Rivera. Instead I got 24 (beautiful) paintings by Cezanne.
