I purchased this book about a year ago and I think that this is a great introductory level book. It's really packed with information and it's organized well, however, I have read one of the earlier editions as well and I believe I like that one better (the 4th edition, 2010). In my opinion, the 4th edition was better organized and somehow it seemed a bit more straightforward. Regardless, this is still a great book for class or personal use if one is interested in this subject area and the information in both editions is largely the same. I enjoyed it and my copy is filled with underlines and highlighter marks.
I must say that I absolutely LOVE this textbook. I know, I know, I sound like a complete nerd right now but for any political science, international studies, european studies, et cetera major this is the book for you! It explains in-depth the different schools of IR Theory, current political issues, how the past has given rise to today's political system, et cetera. I only wish I had this book for some of my previous classes!
To whom this may concern,The book, International Relations and World Politics, was very useful and effective for my academic college work. However, there were various mistakes in the context section for page referencing, spelling errors, and some syntex errors. Therefore, it was a great asset to have for my academic class as it was needed, but as reliable contentual aspects I used additional resources to make sure the information was accurate.Cindie Gragg
I was very pleased with the time that this book made it here in, and the condition it was in for the price. The content is rather hard to find enjoyable at times, but nonetheless it is very informative.
