Excellent book that gives a great insight about photographic techniques.
Great book to learn from I have a lot of the books in the series. I have used the books to learn photography. The format is very good I like the fact that at the end of each lesson you have an assignment or two to do. The books are easy to understand not complicated written for the average joe on the street and filed with lots of encouragement. The book's are written by professionals. so the person knows the subject they are writing about. I use the books also for reference so don't get ride of them when you finish it. I have been using the book for the past 3 years. ( Amphoto book's are wonderful) 3 years a go I wanted to learn Photography not just take pictures so I tried to find a class. could not. But with this book and the others in the series I put together a course of study for myself to take me to were I want to be.
I'll tell you I have struggled all my Shooting life to understand why certain shots worked and others didn't. I was usually a guess. Well, when I found out that my camera was trying to make EVERYTHING (highlights and shadows) in the viewfinder 18% grayI went Huh?!? Secondly, When I found out that you should meter for the 18% equivalent of your MAIN subject I went - OH!?!Don't worry if you are still a struggling artist like me these two books will help you too,
