Purchased this book for an American Government Class at the University Level. The textbook contained all information necessary for the course, and additional information that was interesting to read. Much of the information in the earlier chapters is general knowledge/high school knowledge which one may skip if using the book as a study resource. The book also provides notes to additional online resources, which can be useful if one is using the book as a study resource.The book arrived in new-condition, with no damage or printing errors.
I have enjoyed the readings from this book for my US Government course. It is certainly not a manual for how government works, but instead seems to attempt to explain why things are the way they are. Causes and effects. The authors seem relatively unbiased and present controversial things in fair light. If this is the book for your course, I think you will enjoy your reading assignments.
The overall book was great. Just what I needed for my class however the condition of the book was horrendous. Most of the pages had some sort of red stains, oil stains, black stains. It looked disgusting
This book was for a Political Science 101 course, which satisfied both by US Constitution and State Constitution requirements. This book was hard to read as it was highly opinionated in the way that it presents the topic of women in politics. The whole books seems to be devoted to a feminist agenda, and uses facts and data that are far less than reputable. The book presents idea's as if they are facts and never directly counters any arguments against their viewpoint. It didn't help that the book was assigned from a teacher who's views tightly align with those found in this textbook.
Good book. The reviews are verey useful. If your professor uses the slides that come with the book you can just use the review to stidy for exams. As a side note the book i rented was a new copy.
Solid book for learning the basics of American Government. Teaches basically everything to know about US Government history from the Revolutionary War to the first term of President Obama.
Bought for a daughter who needed it for school, the price here on was the best available, it arrived on time and is what my daughter expected. Excellent!
Great I like it!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope to rent again for my next book. Recommend it if you have no other choice I guess
