I had to use this for my Political Philosophy class and I must say, it's a great textbook that offers an unbiased look into differing political theories that comprise the field of Political Science. It speaks primarily about Conservatism, Liberalism, Socialism, Marxism; all speaking in terms of how they all want to achieve the democratic ideal-analyzing them all in terms of how they explains human life, evaluates our current circumstances, how the ideology offers orientation to it's followers, and how they are put into political programs to overall establish change. I would definitely recommend it if you're a fan of politics, philosophy, if you're taking a class, or anything really, it is an easy read, especially for a philosophy book. If I had to rate this, I would probably give it a four star- at times it could be a bit tedious but that's always to be expected for a text book; had it been able to captivate me more and inspire me to think on all the varying topics more, I would have given it a five star, but since it was merely telling me the information rather than willing me to think for myself on the issue, four stars sounded about right.All in all, I would say that it was a great book and worth the read, so I'd say get it.
