I received an advance copy of the book. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I don’t have much knowledge about forensic art and I’m not a big fan of the crime shows. I was pleasantly surprised to see how easy the book is to read. It’s written in a very down-to-earth style and although it has a lot of information, it’s presented in an understandable way. The author does a wonderful job in taking the reader step by step through the different methods of forensic art. Her love of her work is demonstrated throughout the book. This is a great book for anyone wanting to learn more about the forensic art field.
This well written book by Lisa Bailey does a great job of explaining what Forensic Art is and what it is not. This fun and interesting book does a great job of explaining without going into too much detail. This is a great book for curious minds that want to know.
While the expertise shown by Bailey and others is persuasive regarding the usefulness of forensic art, given the current climate of police abuse, I was bothered by the Bad Guys vs. Good Guys language. I was especially uncomfortable with references to females who filed false rape reports, as if they encountered such false reports daily. Of course every thinking person wants to keep our world safe, but I definitely got the impression that these forensic artists were convinced that Evil Was Out There, just waiting for their sketch to reveal it.
Lisa really captured the essence of everything in the book and made it easy read even for "non professional" reader. I was so interested that I read the whole book in one day! It was systematically written and guides you through the process in an easy flow! Glad to be a Kickstarter supporter, since this is a proof that Lisa not only is amazing in Forensic science, but also has what a person needs to be a good writer! THUMBS UP!
It's okay. Found a mistake on page 85 (coronoid process/condyle mix up) didn't know where to report it. this book is intended to those who would like to learn more about forensic art but is not intended at all to those who need more in-depth information.
