This is a very sad story of 8-year-old Victoria Stafford who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by two very evil, troubled people. Author Kelly Banaski did an excellent job telling this story. This is another excellent read from the Crimes Canada Series and I highly recommend it.
Taking Tori is one hell of a good true crime read. The author worked hard to get an interview with one of Tori's killers. It was Terri-Lynne's first interview and from what I've gleaned about her personality, I'd bet it was her last. So this will be your only chance to get the inside scoop on what was really going on in the killer's mind that day. Be sure you want to though, because as with all true crime books that have exclusive info, that depth of detail makes the story more jarring. It will stay with you for a while. Banaski has taken one of the most horrifying crimes in the annals of Canada's history and managed to give us an outstanding account of it. Skillfully she draws us into the case, provides all the background on the killers that we need to know, answers all questions and leaves us felling well sated that we have the full story. Highly recommend it to true crime fans!
Kelly you have done it again!!!! This book was so heartbreaking not only because it was an 8 year old girl, but also because it was a woman who her mom bought pills from how sad. It reminded me so much of the Paul and Karla duo. Sick minds that need to be six feet under instead of sitting in a cell. It made me so angry that a young outgoing girl couldn't even finish school and enjoy life because of people like Terri and Michael. I recommend this book to anyone out there because it is truly and eye opener. It's short, sad and you would not want to put it down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have a ten year old son who I thought about the entire time I read this book. As I continued to read, I cried, got angry, became terrified, and was overwhelmed with disgust that beings we refer to as humans can commit to such an atrocity. The best gift my son has received was watching an episode of 20/20 where a child was abducted and murdered. It filled him with questions from me that I refused to sugar coat. I hope he is more street smart as a result. This book will have the same effect. Kelly Banaski has done tireless research for this book, and has written it with the heart of a mother. I can tell each word she committed to paper tore into her soul. I look forward to reading her other works!
This is a book about Michael Rafferty and his girlfriend Terri Lynn McClintic who kidnapped, raped and murdered a little girl to satisfy his pedophilic urges. Their actions were inexcusable. I know plenty of people who were born to and grew up with parents who were on drugs, abusive and or mentally ill and they grew up to be great people who would never participate in this abomination. Both of them gave me the creeps, but especially her.
This story was so sad. I have 2 Granddaughters myself same age as Victoria and couldn't even begin to imagine. Another great book from the Canada series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Very well written. Thanks Kelly Banaski and RJ Parker Publishing.
Volume 13 of the Crimes Canada was a pretty quick read in that Kelly's writing style in easy to read and like the other books in the series, it's not a long book!It seems well researched, which given the nature of the subject had to take somewhat of a toll on the author! It's the heartbreaking story of how little right year old Victoria ( Tori) Stafford started her day like most little girls going off to school. And how when she was walking home she was confronted by something EVIL! That's when Teri McClintic persuaded little Tori to go with her on the premise of looking for a lost dog! But there was no lost dog! Only something even more evil! Teri's boyfriend Michael Rafferty wanted Teri to kidnap a young child that he could rape and torture! Driving to a secluded spot, Teri left young Tori in the car where Rafferty brutally and repeatedly raped the terrified child! Then together they proceeded to beat Tori to death!
This is a sad horrible story, I still don't know if i feel sorry for Terri-Lynn & it's great her mom has changed but she should be in prison in my opinion she had a huge hand in getting the little girl killed as well. Toward the end I feel like the book dragged on & I always like to see more photos of the participants.
