This book is good for people starting out in college/med school. It gives a great overview on multiple topics. In being a bit more seasoned and being out of residency seven years now I'm looking for more in depth info. With that being said I wish had read it 10 years ago...I would be much better off right now!
Concise, appropriate level of detail, even a bit inspiring. Sometimes these types of books are either written for a 10 yr old or written in financial language that is unfamiliar to physicians.I think it's a good balance and an appropriate level of understanding.
This book covers great deal if information and teaches physicians how to be financially responsible and become debt free. The steps are simply but not easy as it takes years of dedication, but it's worth it in the end. Like Dave Ramsey said in his financial peace book,"the grass feels different under your feet when you own it. " highly recommend it. Filled with humor too.
This should be one of the first books for young physicians to teach themselves about financial topics. Very easy to read and understand. It would be nice if the author included some more advanced references for readers once they have finished this excellent text.
This book gives you a general idea about finances regardless you are a physician or not however there are many chapters that touches only physicians.I lost track of him midway as I was reading and I can't tell that I learned much.... Of note, I have a very shallow financial background
A great primer for me as a MS4 about to enter residency on what I should be doing now and be mentally prepared to do in the future for my financial wellbeing
Very casual (maybe too casual) coverage of finance. Almost none of it meaningfully tailored to physicians. The level of debt-fear of the author is actually a bit crazy given the typical physician finance and debt burden. It's almost irrational, including shunning of credit cards and completely un-nuanced discussion of mortgages and car buying/leases. The author just obviously isn't an expert and is projecting some strong opinions that frankly aren't generalizable. Coverage of student loans was almost meaningless, out of date, and completely lacking detail (and is one of the few things that are a big deal to young docs). I could go on, but the bottom line is that this book isn't terrible, it does cover some good material and gets some stuff right, it's just not very good.
