You can read this book from cover to cover within two hours and gain an excellent grasp of interviewing strategy.Mr. Bolles, the most recognizable career author over the last 40 years, provided an excellent overview of the interview process. He not only covers the basics of interview preparation, such as ways to research the company, but he provides follow up strategies as well.Perhaps the greatest value of this book are in the tips on how to negotiate salary, located in chapter two as well as in appendix B. If you keep in mind these 16 pages on salary negotiation, you will stand a better chance of getting the job and can literally make hundreds of thousands more over the course of your career by interviewing effectively. Although I consider myself an expert in salary negotiation, I picked up a tip or two as well.If you are picking up this book for an extensive list of interview questions, you've come to the wrong place. Mr. Bolles does cover a number of questions and answers but he focuses more on setting the stage for the interview as opposed to how to answer each individual question. People who like a bird's eye view of answering interview questions would benefit from Mr. Bolles approach. A book such as my Winning Answers to 500 Interview Questions would complement this one as it would help to fill in the gaps for those who want a more detailed approach of answering each specific question.Overall: I recommend this book. Some great lessons from the master. $12.99 is a bit pricey for a 99 pager but if you employ the tips suggested, it is likely to pay for itself 1,000 fold.
