As a counselor in a Community College, I found this book to be an excellent example of ways in which our students could use their degrees. Many of the students at a two year college are not aware of what they could use their degrees for and this book helps to make them aware of their options.
Very useful information on ways to get ahead with 2 years or less of education. The book shares all the info you need to start your decision making process: career descriptions, education and licensue/credentialing requirements, salaries, and projected growth. It also offers very helpful info on resources for each career field, like accreditation boards for school programs, licensure boards, association websites, etc. You can also go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website to get the most up to date info, as the salary info in particulr can be very old in the book, often from 2000. Otherwise, a great resource!
This thorough book not only covers dozens of careers choices for two-year degree seekers, but contains information to look out for when selecting a college, the right and wrong reasons to choose a two-year college, and checklists for determining what career is best for you.
Comprehensive information on a bunch of jobs that require an Associate's degree or less. Good references for additional information. Great idea for people wanting to look outside the box.
Very good book for the student who wants to investigate careers that only require 2 years of college or technical school.
