I am now on my second book of these postcards. So far, the recipients have really enjoyed them. (That's why I bought a second book.)The good: Some of the photographs are very funny. For example, one card shows a young couple with a baby (or toddler, I can't really tell). The parents are kissing the child, one on each cheek, and the child looks absolutely horrified. In another photograph, a young boy is grinning extremely widely, sporting a lovely 7-10-split grin. Both of these cards, I think, would bring a smile to just about anyone.The cards are also very sturdy, completely suitable for posting. They are thicker than commercial postcards of the sort you might buy on vacation, and they require only the postcard rate to mail. (At least I think they do. I used the postcard rate on every card in the first book, and all were delivered.) The back of each card is divided down the middle, and there is almost no text to interfere with a message. (There is a very small copyright notice running along the left side of the back of each card, but it's not obtrusive.)Now the not so good. Some of the photographs simply are not that funny, at least to me. For example, one card has a family of four standing in front of a "Welcome to South Dakota" sign, and the caption below the photograph reads, "It's the journey, not the destination." Now, it's possible that I simply miss what's funny in the photograph, but the best I can figure out is that the idea of going to South Dakota is supposed to be a joke in and of itself.Many of the photographs are funny simply because of the time when they were taken.
