I would first like to start this by stating that I love books! I am currently a nursing student and want to pursue geriatrics/hospice nursing. I have used a few geriatric books but this one is by far the best yet! she covers a very broad array of topic areas pertaining to the geriatric population. This is also a very "tech" savvy book. She consistently quotes popular websites for further information. Another amazing thing about this book is the incredible diagrams/pictures. I have learned about a TURP but have never seen a diagram or picture of it. This book really explained what a TURP was and the picture was amazing in describing how it works. These are just the very start of list of positive qualities of this book. This book covers topics from interdisciplinary team and history of geriatric nursing to theories of geriatric nursing.So far I have found nothing of a negative quality about this book. I would definitely recommend to students and faculty.
Required book for nursing school. I definitely read this book. Quite a bit of information that was interesting and applicable to the medical field. Great resource for the growing geriatric population.
I'm a nursing student, and have many heavy books to lug around. I bought a Kindle Fire with the intent of "carrying" textbooks on the Fire. I got a nasty surprise; no page numbers on the Kindle, and it won't search by page number! So there is no way to complete reading assignments when assigned by page number! Also, the diagrams are small and not resizable - hard on my old eyes. Would not recommend this for schoolwork.
Publisher totally restructured book in 3rd Edition and expanded content and material. This has made the 2nd Edition completely obsolete and difficult to follow at times.
excellent book broken down in easy sections and includes many samples of the necessary adjustments and testing done for the Gerontological patient population
The book was used and in excellent condition for the under 3.00 I paid for it. Amazing deal to pay more for shipping than the product was like new
okay for general info. Thought it would be a little more indepth. Would like it to have been geared toward elders in nursing home setting
