The emphasis of this book is to give scenarios (step by step character and action descriptions) that performers can use to create performance pantomimes. The scenarios are grouped for solos, split-personality solos, indentified flying objects, duets, trios, quartets, and larger groups. There is also a section on developing a program of pantomimes around a theme. The pantomimes are described in simple everyday language. Another section gives pantomime exercises, criteria for judging pantomimes, and tips on preparing and presenting a pantomime program. The material in the book is not concerned with formal stylized mime technique. Instead, it is concerned with telling a story and sending a message through rehearsed theatrical movement. It is very appropriate for students in grades 4-12 or college students preparing material for young audiences and can be a useful resource for a more advanced mimist in generating story ideas.
