World Wars I and II helped to build the munitions and defense industry in the city, and companies such as Remington Arms, the Lake Torpedo Boat Company, and Sikorsky Aircraft thrived. A great book of old pictures of Bridgeport, CT's past industrial glory. Not very comprehensive... But enough to get the nostalgic juices flowing. If your'e over 40 , you'll certainly be familiar with the companies themselves, if not the remnants of them. I don't regret buying this book... I DO regret that the city I grew up in has lost so much of its past.
