There is not much to write about a CPT code book, or so I thouht. I usually get the Standard Addition, but went for the Professional edition this time. It is definitely worth the extra money. The anatomy charts and coding scenarios are worth it. Further, tabs are a godsend and spiral binding allows it sit nice and flat.
I was trained w/ this version of a CPT coding manual. It is relatively easy to use. The spiral-bound edition is much preferred instead of the glue-bound edition, because the pages don't fall out during the year!!!! Also, the AMA editions of these books are much easier to follow than other editions!!!! A very trusted source!!!
I am a mental health professional and have found it necessary to become more knowledgable regarding medical procedure codes to maximize insurance reimbursement for services rendered in my private practice office. CPT 2011 provided accurate information so that I could accomplish that goal. The descriptions were very user-friendly and amde it possibe for me to inform my administrative staff concerning which code matched with which counseling service.
I work in the medical industry, and could not do my job nearly as well without this book. I have to find crosswalk codes for invalid codes that are billed by medical providers, and this is the book to have for that. You simply look up the billed code, read the description, and find something similar that is valid for payment.
I needed this book for a course I'm taking in medical coding. I bought it with a description that it was dog-eared, highlighted, and yellowed. I didn't expect much obviously but only needed it for a short time so didn't want to spend a lot of money. The price was $1.88 plus shipping - normally the books are very expensive. It came quickly and is in absolutely perfect condition - none of the issues raised in the description were there. They must have substituted an unused book. Needless to say I'm extremely happy with this company and with my book.
AMA is the only way to go! Only one recognized for testing for certification for AHIMA or AAPC. I loved the additional coding tips and the spiral bound...thick front and back covers with a flap for papers. Nice BOOK!

I just received this book today and it looks nothing like the CPT books we keep in the classroom. In fact, it's ten times better! Although, I bought this book as "used" it's in excellent condition. Now I can do the majority of my work at home instead of having to worry about finishing up everything at school.Oh, and might I mention that this item was delivered quickly!
