What a lovely little book. I am new to drawing Zentangles, and this book was a happy surprise. It's a great addition to my small Zentangle library. Although the author doesn't show how to draw each of the completed designs featured at the back of the book, she does supply good instructions on how to create the basic patterns used to fill the overall designs. Anyone who is reasonably confident in their doodling skills should be able to master the majority of these designs.
The instructions are presented as easy-to-grasp drawings like many other Zentangle books. This author also has a written explanation of each tangle she shows. I have many many Zentangle books. This one presented a challenge on every page.Her tangles are highly complex, require deep focus - making them excellent meditation tools - and combine into exquisite works of art. They aren't just complex; they are truly beautiful. This book and I will be involved for quite a while.
It is very easy to use and understand. I can't wait to start drawing. Learning about the background of Zen was interesting.
