Do NOT rely solely on this book to pass the test!! If you can't afford to buy a lot of study materials, do not waste your money on this one; find something better. I used this book to study for my Abdomen registry, which I took in March 2013, and used it as my primary study source and I barely passed so I HIGHLY recommend using other resources, as well. This book is great for learning the basics, and the CD is great because it offers a variety of questions on the games, but nothing like how the test actually is. The test is REALLY hard!! I know people who are smarter and better test takers than I am who did not pass or barely passed, as well. I'm kind of disappointed because I used Mosby's review for X-Ray and I thought it was great! This...not so much. I'm taking my OB/GYN registry soon, though, so I'll see how that test relates to this book and let you know!
This book is an excellent resource to senior ultrasound students and practicing ultrasound techs. The information is directly related to what is needed for Physics, Abdomen and OB/GYN ARDMS registries. If you are looking for more fundamentals, this is not the book to get. There are end of the chapter questions, but the answers are in the back. The answers have detailed explanations. Also, images are included with the end of the chapter review questions. This is a fantastic resource. I wish I'd known about it when my sonography classes just started. I saw a friend using it and bought one for myself within the week. There is also an updated version available.
Great book for the ARRT! Mini exam questions after each chapter and two mock exams (Abdomen & OB) The physics chapters (chpt 1-5) are rather challanging if you are a beginner, yet perfect study tool! I reccomend Edelmans "Understanding Ultrasound Physics" for a great understanding.
good for exercises, but I don't know it is useful for the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) because Now I am taking a sonographer class.
I used the book for study for both the SPI and Ob/gyn registries. I have passed both and found this book to be very useful! I would highly recommend it!
