I've had the opportunity, over my 25 years as a clinical neurologist, to consult the Merritt textbook thousands of times. I've owned the past four editions. From the beginning, Merritt's signature was his emphasis on facts over opinions; conciseness; and solid reliability. It has always been a one-volume work of intermedite length, and it has always been sold at a price most residents could afford. My impression is that many neurologists treasure the textbooks that we've "grown up" with; such books become almost like colleagues to us. For me, the Merritt text has an impressive heritage, having been authored first by Merritt and later by his students, and it's helped me take care of many patients better than i would have without it. So i would have no hesitation at all recommending the Merritt text to a student, a resident, or an attending physician. I'll always keep the Merritt text close to hand.
Great book very helpful and well written!
I find this easy enough to read. It may not have everything I want to know on each subject but it is a great reference to start with .
