I don't know where I got this but it just showed up in the mail one day. It is a great, but short, guide to the insurance industry. As an agent for Farmers Insurance I already knew 95% of the material, but it would be a great book for someone new to the industry. It wont teach you to sell, adjust, or underwrite, but it will help you understand key terms and concepts very well. If you want to break into the industry it would be a good read so that you don't look ignorant in a job interview.
An easy read, but it is more for those individuals who have a background in insurancel. Since I have both an intreest professionally and personally in the field, it is a well written publication. It is purely made for those with a limited background or those new to the insurance industry. I would say it is one of the best basic introductory to insurancce books I have ever read.
Very technical material, but presented in an interesting format, with industry interviews/articles interspersed into the data/text. A good overview for an introduction or refresher on the "state of the industry" these days and how things have developed/recovered after the 2008 economic crisis.
I have been an agent for 15 years but recently my wife accepted a position as a Insurance Business Development Officer for one of the Largest Brokers in the US. I purchased this book for her to learn and get a summary on the Insurance Industry. She read the book right away and said that it is a great book and very easy to read and understand. Thank you for providing a GREAT BOOK!!!
I love the print, and the way it is set up but the information is not exactly what I was looking for, I wanted more on analytics this is more about an overview of the products and too many individual's commenting about the lines or agent, etc.
