It's amazing. That's the simplest way to put it. I absolutely love it, I'll walk around my apartment just singing my heart out or just sitting down and reading this beautiful musical Lin created. It's great to finally see a musical that Latino people like myself are finally seen in.
My son is in this show and is playing the lead. I wanted to get a gift so he can have a great remembrance. This libretto is perfect. The entire show is documented.
One of the best musicals of the last years. Lyrics are clever, funny and quite heartfelt. I live in Mexico and I can appreciate a lot of what the culture of latin people in the U.S. (Specially in N.Y) means to many. I can relate to the family bound relationships and the singular humour and vibe that latin people have, although I think this is a human story that anyone can relate. The music is amazing and reading this book while listening it, can make you feel the blood flowing in the heart of the characters.Definitely one of my favorites!
I bought this book as an Auction Item for my company's fundraising Gala. It was sold, so I haven't actually read the book. But I have seen the musical, which is absolutely wonderful. If it comes to your area GO SEE IT.
A great musical, this book is wonderful. As I read it I would play the music from the soundtrack. I wish all musicals would do books like this.
