I love this music book. I received it as a gift years ago and the pages are falling out of the binding because I've played it on the piano so often! I fell in love with the show when it first came to town and I was so excited to see that the music in the book is exactly the same as on the soundtrack!The piano music is challenging for those who want to play the original score. My favorites are "If I can't love her" and "The Transformation/Beauty and the Beast Reprise." I'm such a romantic and when I play the Transformation, I get goosebumps picturing Belle and the Beast coming together again! Also, I love the "Something There" song. That's probably my favorite!The vocal selection is great too. This is a great buy if you love musicals and love Beauty and the Beast!
This music is absolutely beautiful and translated very well from the original score. The pieces are challenging enough to make them pretty and enjoyable and not too difficult for the intermediate pianist.
We bought this to remember the show by. Now our elementary school-age kids use it, along with the audio, to read and "produce" their own show. Photos are wonderful, text is script/songs. This gets used much more than the kid's version of the same story with drawn characters. It's also a great coffee table book.
I bought this because I have been using the "easy piano" version of this musical's piano music for easily 7 years now, and 7 years ago I needed it...now it is just cumbersome because you clearly know they have over-simplified it so beginners can play. This music sounds SO much realer and like the actual recorded music...I would recommend to intermediate - to - advanced experience level...intermediate will need some practice to polish and advanced will probably have no problems.
I really hate when you buy movie music and they've dumbed it down because they are too lazy to put in the correct notes, or they think you don't really want to play the difficult version. This book is not like that. The pieces I've played sound pretty accurate to the original. I have ten years of lessons, but haven't played in about ten years, so I find this music challenging but not impossible. A lot of the movements in the notes are pretty intuitive, not just because the music is so familiar, but also because it makes sense to move your hands that way. Love it!
I am so glad that I purchased this; I love being able to play my favorite songs from the Musical as well as those that were also in the movie. I would say the skill level required is intermediate, but not too difficult for those beginners who want a challenge.
This beautifully done book of music and pictures was a wonderful gift for my niece who absolutely loves Beauty and the Beast and she loves singing the songs, this book helps her with her music lessons too.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite movie and I love the musical just as much! I was excited to find I could have all the sheet music for a lot cheaper than buying each song by itself and that the book was on sale for 26% off. I love all the pictures of the original Broadway cast, too. Plus, I was really excited that the book includes "A Change in Me" (the song written for the Broadway on tour show)! I love that song and it is a great addition to the musical. The book includes the piano music, guitar chords, and vocals for each song. If you are musical and love Beauty and the Beast, this is for you.I was very pleased that my purchase arrived 1 day earlier than expected. That probably doesn't happen every time. It made my day to find it at home waiting for me. It was packaged well and the book was in perfect condition. I, also, loved that the rose on the front cover has a metallic shine to it because I own the Original Broadway Cast Recording, as well, and the rose on the cover of that is shiny, too! Probably not important to the over all rating, but it made me happy.
