This book is without the gook the other larger Pharmacology books give you. There's not a lot of the chemical break down like the other books but more of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics are. Side effects are clearly spelled out and the book makes learning drugs easy. I wish I had this book the first time around!
Nice book with great illustrations. Well written and easy to understand. I appreciate being able to purchase and rent books from to avoid the over priced books at the campus store. rentals makes things much easier on the pocket book since going to college is very expensive in itself, so appreciate this service. I also find that purchasing used book is great. Even purchasing used study guides is very helpful since sometimes the notes and highlighting that the previous owner may have left behind also helps during studying and reading. It is like having a study partner. Happy studying!I review items in hopes that my review will help you to make an informed decision on your purchase as I also rely heavily on customer reviews when making a purchase on . Of all the textbooks I have purchased in nursing school I feel that this one is on the top of the list because of how easy it is to read. I feel that I am not falling asleep or getting bored while reading it. I would strongly recommend this book for other nursing students or people who are just interested in pharmacology.
OMG....This is the first semester I have used e-books, and I will never go back!!!! This book not only has great information, but amazing features that make it easy to study the material inside. I literally click a button to make flashcards to study, and now Im not carrying around a ton of books (Which really hurt my back last semester). Cant go wrong with this buy!
I am a nursing instructor at an LPN/LVN program in CA. I find this resource helps will explanation of why medications "work" better than others and when coupled with the pathophysiology the students have a better understanding of why one medication would be prescribed for one Patient/Client and not another when both Patient/Clients have the same condition. The illustrations and explanations clarify and assist with learning in my student groups. I highly recommend this book.
This book is very easy to read. Everything flows nicely, broken down clearly, and it's not hard to retain at all. Yes, like all textbooks it's a lot of information, but at least this book doesn't make you want to take a handful of pills just to get through several chapters.
What a nice book to have for any nurse: LVN/RN. I believe I can learn much more by buying a book like this and reading it before I take a brief course that is in a nurse program. I thank for having this book available for nurses and student nurses because it breaks down the medications for nurses to know and learn.
I enjoy reading this book and learning the different medications and how they affect the body and aid in treating signs, symptoms and diseases. The format of the provides you with summarized information of the different conditions and the various medications that can be used to treat the condition. The book also gives details on how the medications work in the body to treat the conditions. It is easy to read and understand, the chapters also reference other sections in the book to build on your knowledge of the medications used.
