I use this a lot. It has helped with case presentations we have at pharmacy school. Easier than hauling the actual book. I have also used this on rotations, although my preceptor wasn't very thrilled with me having this in my pocket. She probably expects students to be walking pharmacotherapy books by their P2 year. Hahaha.
Dear Pharmacotherapy Handbook 9th edition,I love you. I'm going to buy a gratitude stole and drape it over your paper back when I earn my PharmD. You have the old lipid guidelines in you, but every relationship has flaws. I especially love your tables and your clearly-stated goals of therapy. Disappointing with Tables. I compared them with original books, and found that a whole class of drug is missing and another class of drugs under wrong place. e.g. Table 10-2 HTN. Diuretics. Triamterene is not under K+ sparing diuretics. And no Aldosterone antagonist drugs. I bought this to have an easy access to tables, but I have to spent time comparing them with ones in big book.
Not that great. I don't like the organization, and it's lacking so much information. If it wasn't a required textbook, I wouldn't have purchased it. Will sell as soon as this class is over.There are much better options out there.
This book is a great reference guide to many disease states and the pharmacotherapy that is recommended for each. It provides a quick overview of the disease state and and then some detail about the therapy. There are great charts and algorithms throughout the book. I utilized this throughout my therapeutics classes in pharmacy school and am currently using it at my clinical rotation sites.
This is a wonderful book for anyone who needs to use Pharmacotherapy A Pathophysiologic Approach. I ended up solely using this handbook a few weeks into my semester. My professor tested A LOT out of the book and it wasn't realistic to read the massive text book every night. This small handbook has all the pertinent charts and information you need. Definitely recommend this one!
possibly one of the best books I bought for PA school. You will need this, it will save your butt and you will be happy you bought it.
The pages are missing from p. 119 to p 182. Is there a way to get to exchange this book?
