I gave this a 3 start due to the book itself and not the service. They were great it came in excellent condition and very quickly! I am a medical student and need specific thing a out of the text and it doesn't have the pregnancy category and it doesn't separate the common and adverse side effects like the older versions do.
For the drugs it does contain, it has a wealth of information. My only complaint so far is that hundreds of brand name drugs do not exist in this book. For example, Lortab. You have to know to look under Hydrocodone Bitartrate/Acetaminophen. They could have at least included a separate index in the back to cross-reference name brand to generic.
BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE!! I LOVE having access to this handbook without having the actual paper book! It has made clinicals and nursing school meds super easy to look up in a pinch! I am so incredibly glad they made it available on kindle!! I highly recommend buying this book through the kindle for ease of access and the ease of rapidly looking up a medicine just by typing in a name instead of flipping pages. The other amazing thing is I do not even have to have my kindle with me! I can use the kindle app on my phone and still have access to this great resource.
This is the best handbook for Nurses in my opinion. It is easy to find the drug by the name brand or generic. I have had one that was very difficult to navigate it took to long to find the information the index was not even alphabetical and if there was a generic they had that name listed but not the brand name.
I've been a practicing nurse for nearly 40 years, now retired. This has been my "go-to" pharmacy book for at least 20 years (I buy a new one every 2-3 years). This book is very well organized, easy to find information. My favorite feature of this book is the SPECIFIC patient information about how and when to take a medication, with warnings about foods or other medications that should not be taken at the same time.
Still the best fast drug handbook out there. Have carried around other handbooks over the years and keep coming back to this one. Guess if I were still working in hospitals, I'd have a pdf version on my phone. But, old school and in homes now, this works for me. More detail I can now get online. I like, and partly chose this for the well covered interactions of herbs and alternatives with each drug.
Best book out there for Nursing students. I love having this book on hand and not having to use an electronic device to research all of my drugs each week. It has made my life for classes and lab so much easier on me. I carry it with me everywhere I go for school. I am so glad that I was able to find tis book on because it in book stores it was almost double the price. I recommend getting it on here, they also have a digital copy available which could be downloaded to your phone or tablet. This book is seriously amazing, if you are a nurse or a nursing student BUY IT!!
To Whom It May Concern:This is an invaluable reference tool to have in one's possession. Not only for personal use but also for professional use as well. It's not the be all end all, as so to speak, however it's my first line of defense, before rolling over to i.e. PDR's, and on line drug references, etc.... Highly reccommended. A must have for one's drug library, both personal and professional.Tx,Rich
