It is a PDR. Pages and pages of concise data on 99% of every drug there is. It is a good investment if you need or use the data it contains. It is well organized and thought out. I really like it. It is detailed and completely reliable. However, if you need information on only a few meds then I'd advising using other resources such as the internet (at places you can find on Google) and save your money.
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK if you are looking for comprehensive drug info. Only a fraction of the meds are listed in contrast to older editions of a few years ago. the internet has many better reliable sources for medical information.
Lots of excellent information but need a much better index for each drug including generics. Lab names do not help!
Seems companies can pay to have their products listed exclusively. How else does this happen: [...] - Essentia advertising that their *water* is listed in the PDR and that "Essentia is the only bottled water to be listed in the Physician's Desk Reference"And some MDs get free copies. Seems a lot like the Who's Who in ________ scam.
This is a classic example of a historically excellent print resource (before the internet) riding on its laurels and doing nothing to add value to the electronic version. The number of drugs in the visual guide was all of about 15% of the earlier print version. Just not worth the price in my mind
MY WIFE HAD ME HUNT THIS ONE DOWN. THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTELY-FLIPPING-AMAZING PRICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING THE TWO DRUG GUIDES WITH THIS REFERENCE BOOK (P.D.R.); THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO RX AND NON-RX DRUGS 2015 -+- THE P.D.R. POCKET GUIDE TO RX DRUGS...(I'VE WORKED IN THE RETAIL PHARMACY BUSINESS FOR ALMOST 17 YEARS)
Poorly assembled. Unless the reader is cognizant of pharmacotherapy by manufacturer, this publication is of little use. I returned this book for that reason. Secondly, many pages were not cut and bound without paper overhang, suggesting to me the product offered were rejected for primary marketing.
It is very useful, but I would rather pay more and have sturdier paper.
