I have had other texts that did a great job at highlighting the key concepts, perhaps creating a sidebar to point out definitions and concepts as they occur in the text. This book assumes that your highlighter will find these nuggets by itself. Also, the chapter summaries were pretty skimpy, and I did not find them to be a valuable study resource.However, the end-of-chapter questions and problems were fantastic resources to expand my learning and discover weaknesses. I was also impressed by the choice of case studies. These real-world examples contributed to a deeper understanding, and provided a starting point for research.The range of topics included:-The International Monetary System.-Balance of Payments.-Foreign exchange markets and rates.-Management of risk due to foreign exchange exposure.-Sources of global equity and debt.-International Portfolio Diversification Theory.-International Tax Management Strategies.I did learn alot about Multinational Finance from this book, but I think my learning would have been enhanced if the book were developed further.
This text book is practically useless for a teaching device. It does not explain concepts thoroughly and give examples without concepts. For example, the in-the-money, out-of-the-money explanations never explain the formula for deriving the value. It only gives an example and a story, and one has to read through the story a few times to understand what is happening. Not very convenient as a reference.I do not recommend this book.
The text is difficult to read with too much information that strays away from the core material within chapter. Chapter problems did not relate well to the chapters, but relate more to prior international business knowledge (not appropriate for general BA degree). Many text and calculation errors that made "trusting" text information difficult. I would not recommend for Professors to choose this text for undergraduate level course.
I'm not sure how this book made it past the editor. The end of chapter problems are full of errors. Often times whole portions of information necessary to complete the problems is missing. The concepts within the chapters aren't explained well either. Overall the book is not helpful and often times left me frustrated because of how unpolished it is. Save your money--go with another book, unless you need it for class of course.
Meets its expectations but does have lots of typing errors and need the proof reading correctly. Many problems are not described completely or clearly which can be challenging when trying to solve them as no answers are available either.
Make sure you don't get a sample edition, they won't accept it in trade in. Besides that, this book made me smarter and more knowledgable on the topics of IRP and PPP and the yen, USD, peso, etc..

At first when I started to read the chapter it was difficult to understand, but upon reading the next chapter very informative!!
