I love this as a reference for college, or just even as an owner's basic overview of what their vet's office looks at and even includes a vaccination guide for pet owners. It has basic first aid information and an overview of parasites that ail pets and the most common medications typically given along with uses and side effects. It's just very neat.
This is great if you are just getting started in the industry. If you've been working in the field for awhile, you won't learn anything new. This is more for people to learn. If you teach at your hospital, then you might consider getting this to teach the new people, and it is fairly inexpensive.
It's a good snapshot of things you might need to know, unfortunately I bought it to be a cheat sheet of sorts and I don't see it assisting me in that way. In their defense, I'm not sure you could encapsulate the information I wanted in a 6 page laminated folder. My thoughts were if they wanted to stay in that abridged version they should have just stuck to all terms and anatomy in alphabetical order. If they truly wanted to make it something that would be a cheat sheet they should have gone bigger.
I wanted a basic reference chart for my veterinary assistant classes, and this one fits the bill. Nicely laminated, too. If you're entering the field, or if you work in a vet office already, this chart includes some common information that will come in handy.
Im a Vet Tech student and it helped me. It has a lot of useful information. I love it. A must for that career!
Purchased as a birthday gift for a freshman in high school who wants to be a vet. She asked for books etc to help her in her path. She knew some of the information but was super excited to have this to help get her ready.
solid construction and full of data. the local university offered veterinary assistant course that was accredited for about $500 MORE than what I am paying out-of-pocket for (more) training from Stratford Career Institute.
Got this for my daughter who is taking vet tech classes in january. Lots of good information for any dog owner
