These maps are good for a few years so I decided to give this brand a try. If you live in NYC and need a guide to the subways, or neighborhoods or places to go/see, etc. or if you intend to visit, this is a must have. It is a street map and has all the neighborhoods noted as well as all the tourist attractions. Want to see Times Square; no problem. It's noted on here along with the subway stops to get you there. And that cover: it is a tribute to the Towers and the artwork is outstanding. Worth every penny!! Love it.By the way, SreetSmart also has maps of the other boroughs in case you're visiting Brooklyn or The Bronx or . . .
The map was very useful for getting around NY streets, you can make your search in advance about every point you want to visit. However the subway system is not very complete here, so you may want to download the application NY subway into your phone, which works amazingly perfect, giving you routes and maps.
We LOVE this map! It's a little larger than some other laminated maps (although it folds to the same size), and it includes a larger map of Lower Manhattan. My 6 y/o son loves the pictures of the skyscrapers - he's planning our trip around visiting them!
This is a great map that details the new buildings in the WTC area of lower Manhattan. The size, shape, and lamination of the map are excellent. The inclusion of a subway map is a plus and always necessary for visitors to NYC. I've used a number of NYC maps, this one is one of the best.
I purchased three maps for our trip to NYC. This was the one I ended up using the most because it was the easiest to read. The over-sized lower Manhattan section was great. The map had many of the sites we wanted to visit marked on it.
So great to have such a clear map of the post-9/11 lay of the land downtown. Both myself an my 9 year old love the Arithmetic of the Avenues on this one. Nothing quite like VanDam maps, an incredible resource for locals and visitors alike. My advice-- pick up a VanDam map of any city you plan to visit!
I already have the downtown VanDam map but got this one for my visit to the 9/11 memorial. It's a respectful and elegant tribute, and makes for a fitting keepsake.
I found my way around with this map...incredibly clear and easy to read...highly recommended..and it fits into your pockets...and fold open
